Even before Hong Kong, the coronavirus, which was discovered in the UK, had reached Australia.
Australian authorities confirmed on December 21 that two people traveling from the UK had been diagnosed with the new coronavirus.
The new strain of the coronavirus arrived in Asia from Europe just a week later and has now reached the Southeast Asian country of Singapore.
According to Reuters, Singapore authorities confirmed the diagnosis of one person with the new coronavirus on December 24 and said that 11 more people had been quarantined on suspicion of contracting the new corona.
According to Singaporean officials, the man who was diagnosed with the new coronavirus arrived in the country from the UK, while 11 others arrived in Singapore from the UK.
Singapore officials say that although a person traveling from the UK has been diagnosed with a new strain of the coronavirus, there is no evidence that the virus has spread across the country.

A new strain of the coronavirus, discovered in the UK before Australia, Hong Kong, and Singapore, had spread to a few European countries.
According to the German broadcaster Deutsche Welle (DW), European Union (EU) officials confirmed that new coronaviruses had been diagnosed in Iceland, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, and Italy.
The report said that German authorities also believe that the new coronavirus discovered in Britain has already reached the country, but so far no new virus has been diagnosed there.
There are also reports that a new virus discovered in the UK has reached Africa and a virus similar to the new virus has also been found in South Africa.
The new virus, discovered in the UK, has been dubbed VUI 202012/01 or Lineage B117. The first case of the virus was confirmed on December 14.
However, the government said samples of the new virus were initially found on September 20.
There are 14 mutations in this new type of coronavirus, 7 of which are in spike proteins.
It is the same protein that helps the virus enter human cells, and such a large number of mutations are more noticeable than any other type of virus circulating around the world.
According to experts, the results so far show that this new type is prevailing over other types and is causing an increase in cases.
