Ali Zafar had lodged a complaint with the FIA two years ago against an organized campaign against him on social media, which was investigated by the Federal Investigation Agency for almost two years.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had submitted its investigation report to the court a day earlier after a two-year investigation by the FIA.
In the report submitted to the court, singer Mesha Shafi, actress Effat Umar, singer Ali Gul Pir, and Hamna Raza were found guilty of running a false campaign against Ali Zafar and the court was asked to take action against them.
1/2 Here is a soft copy of our complaint to the FIA with evidence of an illegal smear campaign by Meesha Shafi and others against Ali Zafar. Unlike the false narratives peddled on social media our statements are based on facts and evidence. https://t.co/XCh5y8jj9M

2/2 We understand it’s hard to prove harassment therefore we proved through evidence that it was an organised smear campaign launched through fake accounts and false allegations. After an investigation of almost two years the FIA has found Meesha Shafi and 8 others guilty.

Umbreen Qureshi also admitted in his tweet that incidents of sexual harassment are difficult to prove, but he proved that his client was defamed by presenting evidence of an organized false campaign against Ali Zafar.
Ali Zafar also provided information to the FIA about the relationship between him and Mesha Shafi in the evidence shared by Umbreen Qureshi.
The FIA was told in the petition that a few minutes after Mesha Shafi’s sexual harassment allegations against Ali Zafar, a campaign was launched against him on social media, indicating that she already had a plan.
Evidence shared on social media also included pictures of Mesha Shafi and Ali Zafar taken together, which were shared on Mesha Shafi’s various social media accounts and praised Ali Zafar but They were later deleted after the allegations were made.

The shared petition also raises questions about the person with whom Mesha Shafi has been working for many years and taking pictures very closely with him, and even a few days before the allegations were made, he met Ali Zafar. How did they later accuse him of sexual harassment?
The request also included some photos in which Ali Zafar and Mesha Shafi can be seen up close together in a happy mood and Mesha Shafi shared those photos on his social media accounts and praised Ali Zafar. But later they were deleted and the singer was accused.
The shared petition also includes screenshots of Mesha Shafi’s lawyer Nighat Dad’s social media posts, in which he not only made direct allegations against Ali Zafar but also used harsh language against the singer.

It may be recalled that Mesha Shafi had accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment in April 2018 and claimed that the singer harassed her when she had become a famous singer including becoming a mother of children.
However, Ali Zafar immediately denied the allegations. Later, a campaign was launched against Ali Zafar on social media.
After the allegations were made, Mesha Shafi had also filed a petition against Ali Zafar with the Punjab Ombudsman and the Governor of Punjab, but their plea was rejected.
Ali Zafar filed a defamation suit against the singer in the Lahore Sessions Court. The complaint was lodged with the IA.
The defamation case filed by Ali Zafar is still pending in the Sessions Court, while the FIA completed its investigation on December 15 and submitted a report to the trial court.
He pleaded guilty and sought further legal action against them.
