Pakistani umpire Ahsan Raza sets new world record in T20 cricket

After Aleem Dar, Pakistan’s famous umpire Ahsan Raza also set a new world record and became the first umpire in the world to officiate in 50 T20 matches.

Ahsan Raza had the honor of umpiring in 49 T20 matches but due to umpiring in the second T20 match between Zimbabwe and Pakistan, he became the first umpire in the world to officiate in the 50th International T20 match.

Before the second T20 match in Rawalpindi, Aleem Dar presented him with a commemorative shield from the Pakistan Cricket Board and congratulated him on receiving the award.

Ahsan Raza said that he never thought that he would become the first umpire in the world to get the honor of umpiring in 50 T20 International matches.

“I worked hard to reach this place, with the support of the Pakistan Cricket Board and the International Cricket Council, which is why I have reached this place,” he said.

The umpire, who was injured in a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in 2009 said that the accident had happened and I had forgotten about it.

Now the colors of international cricket have been restored in the country and I wanted people to remember me for my umpiring.

Ahsan Raza used to do wicket-keeping while playing domestic cricket and he thinks that the experience he got while wicket-keeping also plays a role in his correct decisions.

“Just as not every ball is decided in umpiring, in wicket-keeping there is no catch or stump on every ball, so your focus remains constant,” he said.

The Pakistani umpire said that now umpiring is more than a profession as umpires have to focus a lot due to the advent of technology in the game.

Interestingly, the second-highest number of umpires in T20 Internationals is Aleem Dar of Pakistan who has officiated in 47 T20 matches so far.

Third on the list is England’s Ian Gold, who has the honor of umpiring in 37 T20 International matches.

It should be noted that Aleem Dar became the umpire for umpiring in most ODIs due to umpiring in the ODI series against Zimbabwe a few days ago and it is an honor for Pakistan that Aleem Dar also has the honor of umpiring in more than 132 test matches.

Thus, Pakistani officials have the honor of umpiring in most international matches in all three formats of the game.
